The first time I heard about Marcus Buckingham was two days ago when I received an email telling me about the forthcoming launch of his new book The Truth About You: Your Secret to Success.
The email is also says Marcus is a New York Times best selling author and provided a link to his website. The website is very nice and professional but as with all such websites there’s hype and everything is very bias in favor of the owner or his products.
I did some googling before I delve further into the site. I came up with some surprising info about this guy. He is a Brit living in the States, worked 17 years at Gallup, been interviewed by countless magazines, he’s been on talk shows like Oprah Winfrey’s, on the talk circuit, gave talks to the managers of some of the big corporations like Cisco, Coca-Cola and Microsoft. Last but not least, he is on the advisory team to the US Secretary of State.
Now that’s something! I went back to his website to learn more about his books and the new launch. Also on the site are some videos. This video convinces me that he is good! I must go and get his books and especially the new one.
It’s Thursday evening and I’m checking my stats on the BigNews.biz site. Traffic for the day was good, but one particular press release went to the top of the popularity list in less than a day.
Yahoo will go ahead with its search advert agreement with Google, despite complaints from various parties that it will reduce competition in search marketing on the internet.
The deal will see Google sell adverts alongside Yahoo search results on some of its pages and Hilary Schneider, vice president of Yahoo US, told the BBC that the deal was “fully within the guidelines of the law”.
It may be established in other markets around the world but affiliate marketing still has to win over sceptical advertisers in the Asia-Pacific region.
A key weapon in a marketer’s armoury to reach and acquire customers online, affiliate marketing is by no means a new concept, and yet it has still to catch on in a big way in the Asia-Pacific region.
